Cornette Face

10 Feb

For those of you in the impossibly minuscule cross-section of professional wrestling fans and atheists: if you didn’t yet know, professional wrestling manager, commentator and promoter, Jim Cornette, is not only a liberal (or at least vehemently against conservatism)… but he’s an atheist! (WARNING: Strong language!)

Watch the entire video above; it’s awesome. He rants about universal health care, the “three Cs” (conservative, Christian, c***suckers), and everything else that’s wrong with current conservatives, including how Obama has been treated by the right wing. He then goes into religious wars, religion, and belief in a higher power, and admits to being an atheist:

I got news for you: I don’t believe in the supernatural. I don’t believe in a supreme being, an invisible man in the sky…

…as John Lennon said, ‘Imagine there’s no religion, it’s easy if you try / No hell below us, above us only sky’…

Indeed. Words to live by.

The "Cornette Face", a frozen still of a look of incredulity and disbelief on the face of Jim CornetteAs a professional wrestling fan (on and off, depending on the quality of the product at the time), and as someone who was already a fan of Jim Cornette and his outspokenness on everything pro wrestling — even becoming so popular as to having a frozen still of his face become an internet meme, with the caption “Fuck This Company” below it, called the “Cornette Face” and popularized by Botchamania — this is just the icing on the already sweet cake.

Also consider a meme of Cornette right before he was put in the little cage in the match against the Fantastics is 1988.
